چکیده
The present study was aimed to determine the effect of foliar application of micronutrients (Fe, B and Zn) on the quality of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Dusehri plants. For this purpose, 21 healthy, full bearing and mature (20-25 years old) trees were subjected to foliar application of different combinations of FeSO4, H3BO3 and ZnSO4 before flowering and at full bloom stage. Results revealed that the application of all micronutrients significantly increased the quality of fruit than the control. Whereas, trees sprayed with 0.4% FeSO4 + 0.8% H3BO3 + 0.8% ZnSO4 (T6) showed the maximum pulp weight (169.2 g), total soluble solids (27.9 Brix°), ascorbic acid (150.3 mg/100 ml) and non-reducing sugars (8.83%) & less stone weight (28.13 g) along with low acidity (0.178%) in comparison to rest of treatmnents and control.

Mango (Mangifera indica L.), an edible fruit, is one of the main agricultural products in many tropical regions. Mango varieties differ in not only fruit shape but also aroma, which is an important characteristic. Although the fruit has many uses, the seeds are discarded as waste. Therefore, this study aimed to estimate the fatty acid content of seed oil of mangoes from different cultivation ar...
متن کاملBimonthly Nutrient Application Programme on Calcareous Soil Improves Flowering and Fruit Set in Mango (mangifera Indica L.)
Fertilizer management particularly for mango trees is tedious on alkaline and calcareous soil. Mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Langra trees were supplied fertilizer through soil application under bimonthly nutrient application programme to ensure the continuous supply of nutrition to plants throughout the year. Fertilizer (N, P and K) was supplied five times a year at regular intervals while sk...
متن کاملPostharvest Quality of Mango (mangifera Indica L.) Fruit as Affected by Chitosan Coating
The effect of coating with irradiated Crab and Shrimp chitosan (CHIirr, Mv = 5.14 × 104) and un-irradiated Crab chitosan (CHIun, Mv = 2.61 × 105) on postharvest preservation of mango (Mangifera indica L.) fruit was studied. Irradiation at 100 kGy and 200 kGy of both Crab chitosan and Shrimp chitosan were used and the fruits were stored at 15°C ± 1°C and 85% relative humidity for 6 weeks. The ef...
متن کاملEffect of the moisture content of forced hot air on the postharvest quality and bioactive compounds of mango fruit (Mangifera indica L. cv. Manila).
BACKGROUND The effectiveness of hot air treatments in controlling decay and insects in mango fruit has been demonstrated and has usually been assessed as a function of the temperature of the heated air and the duration of the treatment. However, the contribution of the moisture content of the heated air has received little attention, especially with regard to fruit quality. In this study, mango...
